Based in Johor, Zaharah advises a diverse range of clients across the real estate industry, including private clients, local and international investors, listed and private companies, statutory corporations, government-linked corporations and government agencies. Her area of practice revolves around property-related transactions such as sale and purchase of properties, leases and tenancies involv­ing all types of real estates.

Zaharah has considerable experience in matters relating to banking and finance, having advised numerous financial institutions pertaining to project finance, property finance, corporate banking and bridging finance, for conventional financing as well as financing under Shariah principles.

In respect of corporate and commercial work, Zaharah has advised, negotiated, as well as drafted documentation for, an array of transactions that include mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, land development, privatisation projects, general corporate and commercial drafting and advisory work.

• Advised on and negotiated a complex real estate transaction of substantial value involving a public listed company and a govern­ment- linked corporation which included liaising with the relevant authorities to obtain regulatory approvals.
• Involved in a housing scheme and compensation related to land acquisition in Pengerang, Kota Tinggi, Johor to make way for the development of the RAPID Project.
• Acted for a government agency to advise on and draft transaction documents for a development grant programme in relation to oil and gas services, and equipment which was designed under the Twelfth Malaysia Plan.
• Advised on a concession agreement in relation to the provision of equipment and the operation, management and maintenance of a centralised ticketing system at the Larkin Sentral Bus Terminal.
• Advised one of the leading banks in Malaysia in connection with facilities of a sizeable sum granted to a corporation for the purpose of, among others, financing of properties in Australia.
• Acted for a government-linked company to advise on the disposal of a hotel in Johor.
• Advised local and foreign clients on a wide range of commercial agreements which include agency, distribution, concession, consultancy, contract manufacturing outsourcing, service, management and maintenance, and other commercial arrangements.
