KUALA LUMPUR
TEO WAI SUM, Corporate and M&A
Wai Sum, recognised by Asialaw 2021 as a Notable Practitioner, has extensive experience in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, as well as corporate and commercial advisory work. She has advised both local and international clients on her areas of expertise.
She acts regularly as Malaysian counsel in outbound initial public offerings on some of the key international bourses, including the Singapore Exchange, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the Australian Securities Exchange and the London ISDX.
Wai Sum graduated from Universiti Malaya with an LLB (Hons) in 2002. The following year, she was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya. She also holds a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of Melbourne.
AMARDEEP SINGH TOOR, Employment and Industrial Relations
Amardeep handles both litigation and advisory matters on all aspects of employment and industrial relations law.
He also advises corporate clients on immigration laws and on the management of their foreign workers and expatriates, as well as employment-related tax laws in Malaysia.
He has contributed several articles to the Industrial Law Reports published by The Malaysian Current Law Journal. Recognised as a “Rising Star” on The Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2020 ranking, Amardeep has been commended for his ability to “present to clients in a clear layman’s way without overt legal jargon”.
A graduate of the University of the West of England, Bristol, and a member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, Amardeep was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2012. He was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2013.
PENANG
KESHANIVAARINI BASKARAN, Corporate
Keshanivaarini’s main areas of practice are corporate, conveyancing, banking (conventional and Islamic) estate matters and real estate. She has acted for both retail and corporate clients such as banks and property developers in matters encompassing property development projects, joint ventures, real property and general conveyancing, in the states of Penang, Perak and Kedah.
Insightful and innovative deal structuring, coupled with a strong focus on achieving the best legal outcome for clients, are among her strong suits.
Keshanivaarini graduated with an LLB (Hons) from the University of London. She was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2008.
SHALENI R ANPUALAGAN, Corporate and Commercial Disputes
Well versed in civil, commercial and general litigation, Shaleni has advised on matters ranging from administration of estate and trust and planning approval appeals, to defamation and garnishment.
She has represented various multinational corporations, government-linked companies and hospitals on employment disputes in the Industrial Court, the Labour Court and the High Court. She also handles contested probate as well as complex trust and estate matters.
Shaleni graduated from Northumbria University in the UK with First Class Honours, and was one of two top students awarded the 2005 Oxford University Press Law Prize. She was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2011.
