Lee Hishammuddin Allen & Gledhill (LHAG) is pleased to have participated in MyFintech Week 2022 (MyFW), a virtual event focused on fintech and tech transformation of financial services in Malaysia, organised by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM). Centered on the theme of “Advancing Digitalisation for Recovery, Sustainability and Inclusion”, MyFW hosted various events, seminars and panels focusing on the importance of sustainability and digital technology in reorienting the role of finance to assist economies in rebuilding with the aim of a more inclusive, resilient and sustainable future. Held from 24-28 January 2022, the event saw more than 40 corporate participants, comprising local and international fintech players.

LHAG is one of the pioneer partners of the Fintech Booster programme that was launched in August 2020 by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation in collaboration with BNM. The  programme provides capacity-building resources for fintech companies to develop their fintech products and solutions from conception stage to proof of concept stage, via three strategically crafted verticals, namely, legal and compliance, business model and technology. Partner, Teo Wai Sum, and senior associate, Eleena Abd Wahab, of LHAG’s Corporate M&A and TMT Practice participated in a Fintech Booster session organised as part of MyFW and conducted a one-on-one consultation session with a participant of MyFW, contributing their thoughts on navigating the fintech legal and regulatory framework.
