In April 2022, the Malaysian Competition Commission (MyCC) issued a Consultation Paper on the Proposed Amendments to the Competition Act 2010 (Act), together with the Salient Points of the Proposed Amendments to the Act (Salient Points). Among the proposed amendments is the introduction of a merger control regime in Malaysia. The proposed amendments are targeted to be tabled in Parliament in June 2024. The merger control regime is expected to impact both businesses and consumers tremendously.
